Halfway through Ephesians
At LVBC, we place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of the Bible. We believe that is through the preaching of the inspired Word of God that he will work in us by his Spirit and grow us in our love for him and for one another.
The way we've committed to studying the Bible at LVBC is by picking a certain book and working through it little by little. This way, it won't be our agenda that ultimately decides what the sermon is about but the agenda God sets in his Word.
As our first sermon series, we've been working through the book of Ephesians. This is a letter written by Paul (an early missionary of the church) to a group of churches in what is now western Turkey. Paul's letter has two main parts. First, he helps us understand what it means to be a Christian (chapters 1-3) and then he teaches us what it means to live in light of our new life in Christ (chapters 4-6).
This Sunday, we come to the end of that first section, where Paul closes out chapter 3 by praying for the church and by praising God, the One "who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think." Next week, we look forward to diving into the second part of Paul's letter and learning how the gospel should impact our lives as Christians living in the community of the local church.
We'd love for you to come join us on this adventure of learning more about the gospel from the book of Ephesians!
